Our Story

Learn Latin was set up by Dan Harries to provide high-quality online tuition and educational support for those wishing to learn Latin online.

About Dan Harries

Dan Harries was previously deputy head of an independent school and taught across multiple subjects, including Latin, History, French, German, Italian and English.

He has a first class degree in modern languages, plus an LLB in law, and achieved his PGCE and QTS in 2013. He also possesses an enhanced DBS check.

Over the years, Dan has taught hundreds of students how to speak, read and write Latin; taking them from being complete beginners, with no knowledge of Latin, to being able to confidently read ancient texts and subsequently pass their exams.

Whilst Latin was once only the preserve of those who attended top independent or grammar schools, the internet and online tuition means that this is no longer the case.

Ultimately, Dan setup Lancaster Learning to provide high-quality Latin tuition for anyone who wants to lay the foundations of a classical education.
